Why Should I Choose Easy Energy?
Easy Energy offers long-term, fixed-rate energy plans with prices that are guaranteed not to rise for the duration of your agreement with us. Our plans provide you with the assurance and reliability you need to better manage your energy budget.
What Do I Need to Enrol?
In order to create your account and provide our services to you, Easy Energy requires only your name, address, phone number and FortisBC Account/POD number. We do not require and will not ask you for additional personal or financial information.
Are there Any Hidden Costs?
No. You will never be charged more than the natural gas commodity price specified in your agreement with us. There is no cost to enrol in Customer Choice, and there are no new or added FortisBC charges that apply when you participate in Customer Choice.
How Will I Be Billed?
FortisBC will continue to bill you as they always have. Easy Energy will be identified on your FortisBC bill as your commodity provider. You will continue to make payments to FortisBC and will still be able to take advantage of their various payment options.
Will I Save Money?
You will save when FortisBC’s default rate is above your guaranteed Easy Energy rate.
How Long Will it Take to Enrol My Account?
We’ve worked hard to make the enrolment process as quick and
efficient as possible. Once your agreement is verified, we will typically start
flow within 60 days. If you are currently enrolled with another supplier, we
will enrol your account at the end of your existing agreement to ensure you do
not have to pay any early exit fees to your current supplier. We’ll handle
everything, and you’ll receive a confirmation letter from FortisBC that will
confirm your enrolment and start date.
Will My Natural Gas Service be Impacted?
No. We will take care of everything to ensure a smooth transition. Your natural gas service will not be impacted during the enrolment process.
Do I Need to Contact FortisBC?
No need! We’ll liaise directly with FortisBC. Once the enrolment process is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation letter from FortisBC confirming your enrolment and advising you of your start date.
What if Prices Go Down?
If the price at which we are offering to supply natural gas declines during the term of your agreement, you may contact us to exercise your Easy Adjustment Option and we will lower your price on the next available anniversary date.
What if I Find a Lower Price?
If you find a lower price within 10 days of signing your Easy Energy agreement, call us and we will beat that price.
What Happens if I Move?
For residential customers: If your move is within FortisBC’s service territory, your Easy Energy agreement is fully transferable and should automatically move with you. We ask that you provide Easy Energy with at least 60 days’ notice prior to your move to ensure there is no disruption in our service.
For commercial customers: If your move is within Easy Energy’s service territory, we can transfer your energy agreement to your new location. However, the agreement will be amended to reflect the particulars of the new location. We ask that you provide Easy Energy with at least 60 days’ notice prior to your move. This gives us time to accommodate your move, amend the agreement and coordinate to ensure no disruption in service.
Is there a Penalty if I Want to Cancel My Agreement?
Following your enrolment, you have 10 days to cancel without penalty. After the 10-day cancellation period and depending on the circumstances, early exit fees may apply if your agreement is terminated prior to its end date.
What Happens at the End of My Agreement?
Prior to the expiry of
your agreement, we will attempt to contact you with an offer to renew your Easy
Energy agreement for an additional term. If you do not renew, your account will
automatically return to FortisBC’s default gas rate on your agreement’s end
date.
Whom Do I Contact if there is an Emergency or a Gas Leak?
FortisBC remains responsible for emergency service, metering, repairs and maintenance. The costs of these services are included in the rates charged by FortisBC for distributing the gas. If you experience a disruption in service or a gas leak, contact FortisBC’s toll-free emergency number: 1-800-663-9911.
How do I Make a Complaint?
We strive for excellence in customer service and work hard to resolve customer complaints quickly.
